CORONA PANDEMIC 2020
Welcome 2020 and happy New year ... we wished each other as we
welcome 2020 in our life...with new hopes, new aspirations..!! as we stepped in
2020 ...we heard about a virus in china graving in human life , a deadly
virus..who would have thought this virus would travel around the world taking a
toll on human life or that we have to live with it for the next 2-6 months..!!
2020 brings in corona virus....as around 6.8
million (as of 9-6 -2020) have infected with the virus with over 3lakh+ deaths. Now
I am not posting any debates or any issues or any kind of advises about Corona.
we all are consuming much information and misinformation thoroughly widely
circulated around the world through social media. More faster and deadlier
than the virus ,its the misinformation spreads that
creates unnecessary panic and reparations in the minds of the
people even before infecting people. The lockdown was imposed to further
stop the spread of the virus from a probable infected person.
The lockdown period a real blessing…?
We practiced sustainability - together as a family, made survival on sustainability
as our lifestyle and compared to the luxurious lifestyle we lived- cutting down
on consumption, being conscious spenders, buying only what we need and learning
to recycle and upcycle. We have taught ourselves to be calm, practiced yoga and exercise, making our own stuff. many even brought our their lockdown art, resorted to baking, cooking at home restaurant like meals..bringing out their inner passion.
We focused on good hygiene. We kept reminding ourselves to wash your hands, sanitize
house, keep surfaces clean. Keep your homes and surroundings clean. Use a mask
when you have a cold or cough. Sneeze into a tissue and dispose of it. Teach
your kids to do the same. Use mask when you go out to buy essentials and when
back home and sanitize ourself. our own clothes . We are practicing Cleanliness, next to godliness for a reason.
Remote working works and
now its desirable- this can help us avoid most unnecessary commuting
that contributes to the pollution in our cities. Remember even the animals were
on street breathing fresh air, the fishes were happy as there was no polluting
agent dirtying their water. Technology exists now and can be leveraged to maximise
team interaction even if remotely spread out through zoom meetings. You have
learnt to work at the convenience of your homes and interact remotely , Slowly
enjoying the new trend of working and it feels good to be home…isn’t it ? 99
percent of all physical meetings are a complete waste of time and can be
managed via email interactions.
Home schooling or online schooling - since the pandemic struck, the kids are missing out on their important educational calender, who thought kids do schooling right from your house just through your wifi/internet connection.
We Think as a community- Lockdown was a kind of Self-isolation even if asymptomatic is one of the ways in
which people are doing their bit to avoid being transmitters of the virus. This
is the attitude we need to continue and have more of. We could all do with a
little more collective common sense when it comes to surviving as a community .Stocking
up on essentials But ensuring that you are stocking as much as you need and not
hoarding so that others who need it will be deprived. Little did we realized
that people have come together to help each other in crisis .we may
have competitions with each other, running around in the rat race for
money, work, fame ..
but when crisis comes we are one.. we are fighting the virus together
hand in hand like warriors. But the true warriors are the real sacrifices of the
front-line warriors are doing for us in this hour of crisis, the doctors,
nurses, hospital staffs, health care workers, civic workers, police and
administrations, essential services. We have applauded and respected the health
care workers for their undying spirit and service.
Some unfortunate were those stranded in other countries , who are awaiting
to reunite with their families, think about those expat workers abroad with
families back home thinking about the health of their loved ones, those migrant
workers who has no savings for future , some ready to die thinking about no
hope for future, families of corona warriors waiting with gasped breath of their
loved ones.
We feel desperate when we don’t know when the pandemic is going to
end at a certain period. The fear is in us and we have to learn to live with
the new normal until sometime , till it
will be normal again. As health experts have been saying there might be a
second wave after unlock.
Don’t worry or try to predict the future. The first thing you can uphold
yourself in the morning is say, “Thank God, I am alive.” No one should take the
gift of life for granted and given the horrible number of deaths and infections
in this pandemic. Congratulate yourself for having the determination and spirit
to confront this crisis. Appreciate yourself if you have survived the pandemic so
far and that you can breathe and eat… Think of those on ventilators, who cannot
breathe or eat. You realize you are so blessed after all.
This is the best time to learn how to calm yourself down during
adversity, and to survive in crisis. It’s the time to teach yourself and our future
generation how to survive in crisis, how
to practice the new normal. Our kids will have so many stories to their future generations on how
they survived and emerged victorious in this pandemic by staying home and
obeying all the rules. hats off to the kids, the real heroes, how easily they understood and adapted themselves in the crisis.
Covid has definitely reshaped the world , unlocking with a new hope that the new world will look different, humble
and more positive. !!!!
